PermaRock Mineral K & R Finish (Textured Render)

PermaRock’s lightweight and cost-effective Mineral Render is predominately manufactured from natural materials and is highly economical due to low consumption rates and ease of application.

PermaRock Mineral K & R Finishes are lime-cement-based lightweight, non-combustible and ecologically compatible exterior renders applicable as a cost-efficient alternative decorative render.

Available in an extensive range of over 1300 colours from the PermaRock 3D-Plus colour range, Mineral K & R renders are based on a white cement and lime binder system with lightweight additives, minimal organic content, and additives to induce water repellency.

PermaRock Mineral K Finish (2.0mm) is assessed to EN 13501-1 and when used as the decorative finish of a PermaRock Mineral Fibre External Wall Insulation system, the system achieves an A2-s1,d0 classification and is suitable for use on buildings of any building height, including those with a storey height above 11 metres.

Available as natural white or pre-tinted to colours (lightness factor LF ≥20) from the PermaRock 3D-Plus colour range. More intensive colour shades (LF < 30 to ≥ 20) can be achieved by decorating with a PermaRock Façade Coating.

Mineral K & R is available with a K (stippled) texture, in 2.0, 3.0 and 5.0 mm grain sizes, or with an R (corrugated) texture with 2.0 and 5.0 mm grain sizes.

Method of Application

PermaRock Mineral K & R Finishes are supplied as dry powder pre-mixes which require mixing with clean water on site. The material is applied uniformly with a stainless steel trowel or using spray equipment. Immediately after application, the finish is ‘rubbed off’ to the correct grain size.

For Mineral K Finish, the render is treated evenly with a plastic trowel by circularly ‘ironing’ to create a uniformly textured surface. For Mineral R Finish, the direction of floating allows the creation of linear (vertical, horizontal or diagonal) or non-linear (circular, swirling) patterns in the finished surface, as desired.

Application / Drying Conditions

Temperature (material, substrate and ambient) during application and drying : +5 ºC to + 30 ºC. Application should not take place in direct sunlight, during strong wind, fog, high relative humidity or when imminent rain or frost is expected. The material cures and dries by hydration and evaporation of water.

Drying time: New renders / plasters are recoatable after a sufficiently long waiting time (normally 2 weeks at 20 ºC and 65% RH). An additional priming coat of alkali-resistant primer, e.g. PermaRock CapaGrund Universal, allows re-coating after only 7 days curing / drying.

Packaging

PermaRock Mineral K & R Finishes are supplied pre-tinted to the chosen colour in 25 kg sacks.
